  1. I know I’m a bit late to this debate but I’m going to head over to Movie Reviews 101 and check this out!

Well, I voted for Idris Elba, but only because my first choice was unaccountably not available. Okay, he may be to old and the wrong nationality, but Steve Buscemi is clearly the man for the job. We’ve had handsome James Bonds, macho James Bonds, suave James Bonds — surely the time is right for a weaselly James Bond?

Haha! Steve Buscemi for James Bond, I LOVE THAT! I might start championing it and trying to think of really excellent reasoning behind it! As well as being a weaselly James of course 🙂

      How are you?

      • BunKaryudo says:

Well, I think he’s be a particularly good spy if he worked with someone like Idris Elba as a partner. While everyone is watching the latter walking into a room and having his martinis shaken and not stirred, Steve Buscemi could be working away in the background doing the serious spying. Of course, if Steven Buscemi doesn’t fancy the part, there’s always William Macy.

My vote’s for Emily Blunt, but since she’s not an option, I’m going Idris Elba. I do like the Clive Owen suggestion, though.

I can’t see any woman playing James/Jane Bond but if ANYONE was going to, she’s be a good contender 🙂

Have you seen that new movie she’s in?

Idris Elba – it just makes sense!!!! We need a hip hop DJ for Bond 😉

I vote for Tom Hardy. Guy is a powerhouse at the moment!

Cheers Jordy!! I think Tom Hardy is so great, perhaps too good for a role like Bond – in a weird way. You see Legend yet? 🙂

No I hope to see it tomorrow before it disappears from cinemas. The film fest has taken up a lot of my time recently

Saw Legend, Hardy is amazing. The movie is pretty shit but Hardy is goddamn amazing. Too good for Bond eh?

I think so yeah, please don’t anyone hate me but I think the Bond films are too generic for someone like Tom Hardy. He obviously fancies himself a fair bit (fair enough lol) and takes himself quite seriously. When you look at the roles he’s done over the years, Bond just seems a bit…meh!

Yeah I only want to see Legend for his performances. How many more films/books/documentaries can there be about the Kray brothers for goodness sake. And they make them out to be loveable rogues in a way when they WERE just nasty bullies and murderers. Oh but they “loved their mum” so they were salt of the earth really!

          how are you Jordy? 🙂

I actually agree with you, Tom Hardy is too good for Bond.

I had never heard of the Kray twins but the movie is so shit, its more of a love story than anything else! Tom hardy was fun to watch though

I’m doin pretty good Em 🙂 How are you goin?

BTW I am about to post chapter V of my rehab story. I’ve been so lazy with it but I’ve finally gotten off my fat arse and am transcribing the diaries

Oh it must be a British thing then because we are inundated with them. Are you aware of the band Spandau Ballet? Because the Kemp brothers starred in the first ‘movie’ about the Krays, which is, kind of hilarious! And TRUE! (pun galore)

Oh that’s great Jordan, I can’t wait to read it!!!!!!! Don’t worry, my lazy arse is far fatter than yours and I go through phases on here, sometimes my fingers are on fire typing and sometimes I just can’t be arsed!

Having said that I can’t WAIT to read Chapter V!!!!!!! I love your Archway Chronicles so much Jordy! I’m alright cheers, it’s Friday so that gives me a reason to smile! 🙂

I will have to sit this one out, Em. I can’t stand Bond films, and really don’t care if there is ever another Bond, let alone who it is. Thinking back to the original books though, I would have to say- if they ever need to make another one- and they don’t, then Matthew Goode gets my vote. (Not that I’m voting, you understand…)
