If anyone has any rational, sensible and coherent reason why this scene is not the very best scene ever in movie history then I would like to hear it.
Okay so the film isn’t the greatest. I mean it’s alright and it’s a great pairing but still not classic material. However this ending – this high five – is just so darn appealing.
Watch for yourself and see. And be sure to enjoy the 80s ‘corny ending to the film’ music that is reminiscent of any John Hughes movie.
Oh man, where do I even begin? The final scene of “North By Northwest”; the scene in “All About Eve” where Bette Davis as Margo Channing turns while going up the stairs and says “Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy night.”; the scene in “Gone With The Wind” where Rhett Butler says his final words to Scarlett: “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”; just about every scene in: “The Wizard of Oz”; “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “The Graduate” to name just a few that come to my mind.

I thought this movie was boring! There! I said it! Though not massively fond of many Kubrick movies I suppose.

Hilarious. Since you brought up Sylvester Stallone, I have met him several times and he is one of the nicest, most self-effacing people you will meet. He’s funny, relaxed, and generous with his time. I just wish I had been on set when they decided to make this shot the end of the film!

I saw this movie for the first time on TV last weekend and was amazed!!!!
I can’t believe you have met him several times! Tell me more!!
Apparently he has the same IQ as Einstein?! So nice to hear he is a great guy!

I created “E! Goes To Cannes” – and for twelve years went to the film festival – I got to hang with him many times and he was always terrific…I also created “E! Explores Planet Hollywood” – a series of TV shows covering those restaurant openings around the world…I took a “unique” talent to Singapore and Bangkok and hung with Stallone there as well…here is that story: https://johnrieber.com/2013/12/31/wild-on-jenna-jameson-my-worldwide-jenna-adventure-starring-bruce-willis-and-sylvester-stallone/

Perhaps not best scene, but definitely best ending to a film. Now I need to go see Tango & Cash again.
I’ve always liked that scene from Men in Black where Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones discuss the nature of secrecy and Will Smith says, why not come forward with it, people are smart. And Tommy Lee says “a person is smart. People are dumb, dangerous animals and you know it!”
Always loved that scene for how true it is.

VERY true! Wise words from Mr Lee Jones!
And I’ll certainly settle for ‘best ending to a film’ 🙂 🙂 thanks Kevin!!
