Considering my reasoning for my Round 4 pick, it shouldn’t be hard to deduce who I’m picking today. She just oozes aloof cool and I can’t believe, in one of the best performances of the 90s, she was booted for who? Dianne Wiest? In wha–? I can’t even remember.

    Emmanuelle Riva – her losing out to J*nn*f*r L*wr*nc* is why I’m boycotting the latter’s films. Also, Andy Serkis for his motion capture work in the Apes films and numerous international actors who have been snubbed by Hollywood’s xenophobia! 😡

    “The Departed” is a great, gritty thriller and you are right – Leo keeps it centered with a terrific performance…this helped set the state for his later Oscar win – like he had to “prove” himself to be more than a pretty face…

      Oh man he was so good in it wasn’t he! I just thought it was such an amazing portrayal, physically and mentally. I never even usually notice much stuff like that! I also love The Departed, glad we agree again John!
