Considering my reasoning for my Round 4 pick, it shouldn’t be hard to deduce who I’m picking today. She just oozes aloof cool and I can’t believe, in one of the best performances of the 90s, she was booted for who? Dianne Wiest? In wha–? I can’t even remember.

Taraji P Henson – Hidden Figures

Emmanuelle Riva – her losing out to J*nn*f*r L*wr*nc* is why I’m boycotting the latter’s films. Also, Andy Serkis for his motion capture work in the Apes films and numerous international actors who have been snubbed by Hollywood’s xenophobia! 😡
EVERYONE seems to hate Jennifer Lawrence winning Oscars ha ha.
What was the Emmanuelle Riva role?
Andy Serkis is a great call, I never think of stuff like that. Evidently neither do Hollywood!! He’s very talented (and great at playing bad guys!)
Amour – a heartbreaking drama where she plays a dementia sufferer. My review: https://wp.me/s2mMDp-amour 😉
Good call! Wonderful film. 🙂
I went with Neeson. He wuz robbed! So good as Schindler…
(Sorry, but you know about me and Leo. 🙂 )
As ever, Pete. XXX
I do know Pete! 🙂
Neeson robbed in favour of Hanks – 100% agree! Roles, films, everything!!!!! xxx
Thanks for ‘Liking Up’ all those posts last week.
I know you are busy, but would love to see you around more. 🙂 🙂 XXX

Oh man he was so good in it wasn’t he! I just thought it was such an amazing portrayal, physically and mentally. I never even usually notice much stuff like that! I also love The Departed, glad we agree again John!
People forget that the film won Best Picture that year…a really gritty crime drama with Jack Nicholson’s OTT performance, which is why Leo and Matt Damon’s focused acting kept it grounded
Jack was manic in that film. Ruined it for me!
