10 (More) Films I’ve Never Seen

I did a similar post before (here) and I enjoyed doing it a lot. Kinda for the lack of work that has to go into it (just saying) but also to show readers a no hold bars look at the real me. Namely by showing the absolute philistine / uninformed faker that I actually am.

Also if anyone is interested the original list still stands. I’ve still not seen any of them.

10. Citizen Kane

There. I said it.

9. Scream

giphy2

An odd one because I like horror, loved the genre even more as a kid and watched every other 90s slasher. What happened?

8. The Bourne Identity

bourne

Never seen this or its sequels but gosh it does look terribly exciting!

7. Iron Man

Iron Man 2 movie image

A very popular and (I’m led to believe) an ‘above average’ ‘comic book movie’. Felt the need for a lot of sarcastic quotation marks there didn’t I. But yeah, for some reason this film just got past me and it’s way too much hassle going back now.

6. Labyrinth

labyrinth-poster_use

Not really my kind of film despite the obvious good things.

5. Gone with the Wind

MSDGOWI EC001

Not sure why I’d watch this anyway, apart from because everyone says you HAVE TO. This, bloody Citizen Kane, bloody Lawrence of bloody Arabia. Will Top Ten or Hundred ‘must see’ film lists ever be updated? I’m being serious, they need updating.

4. City of God

_69118098_city-of-god

Probably one of the most famous / popular non-English speaking films of modern times. And I’ve not seen it.

3. A couple of Harry Potters

ronbrokenwand

And I’m not even sure which ones. I know I saw Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets years ago on DVD. And I watched Goblet of Fire in the cinema. Recently on television I watched The Half Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. I’m just not sure about all of them and I know there’s a couple I’ve definitely not seen.

2. Blue Velvet

139676

Not seen many David Lynch movies to be honest. Or much of a fan (except The Elephant Man – which is probably the most un-David Lynch film he made).

1. Either of the Matrix sequels

960

And I didn’t like the first that much either.

  1. I’m not sure why Gone With the Wind is still on “required” watching lists. I enjoy this film – that is, I enjoy the first 75%; the last 25% collapses under the weight of its own self-importance.

I need to see the Bourne movies too!

  2. I love this list! I have seen Scream, the Bourne Identity (I haven’t seen the most recent one – Bourne), Iron Man, Gone With the Wind (meh), and all the Harry Potters and Matrix films. I haven’t seen any of the others. I really should watch Labyrnth

Emma! You must see Bourne and Scream. I’m working through the Scream franchise for my Blindspots, and it is completely worth the watch. Hilarious at times and gory and so much fun. I was shocked because I really don’t go for horrors too often. The Harry Potters are.. okay? The books are one million times better, I’d focus on them if you haven’t read those yet. Iron Man is really solid for a superhero flick.

Don’t worry, there are plenty of “great” films I haven’t seen either. No rush, right? (Though Iron Man and Gone with the Wind are definitely worth your time.)
By the way, I’ve nominated you for the Mystery Blogger Award! https://sgliput.wordpress.com/2017/02/07/the-mystery-blogger-award-courtesy-of-drew/

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch Harry Potter or LOTR movies. I’d be begging for a quick death!! And I’m certainly not gonna be seeing Singing in the Rain, christ I gave La La Land a try and walked out I hated it that much! As someone else said, Scream has not aged well at all. Iron Man…. well, you know how much I just love superhero movies, but I’m sure you’ll like it. The only two on there that I really want to see (and have done for a while now) is Labyrinth and City of God. The only two that I’d say, screw the ‘classic’ status, they are just incredible films that deserve your attention – Kane and Blue Velvet. In fact I might watch Blue Velvet right now, it has been quite a while!

LOVE that you walked out of La La Land *high five* 🙂 🙂 sorry Jordan we’ve not spoken for so long, I really need to catch up with all your writing. How have you been?

Haha, ditto!!! They’re pretty much the two I’d least like to watch. Iron Man, Scream and Blue Velvet prob the most 🙂 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm’kay 🙂

  6. As for top ten lists being updated, Citizen Kane and Gone With the Wind and Casablanca and Vertigo and so on are there for a reason. I have seen both Kane and Gone With the Wind a few times each now and they remain utterly fantastic each and every time. It is hard to describe just how great those two movies are as they are so dissimilar, but each is at the top of the list for a reason and are two of my absolute favourites. You have to see them!

Never watch Fight Club. You should see Iron Man (all of them). Oh Emma, don’t see Fight Club. Horrible.
