Darren – Movie Reviews 101
Toy Story 3 is the third chapter of the adventures of Woody and Buzz Lightyear who find themselves in the day care centre because Andy has reached college age. The fact this film represents the stage of life where we move on and will no longer need toys in…

Monsters Inc is by far my favourite. While Nemo is a touching story, and it gave me the sniffles, it was Monsters that made me shed a tear.
Incredibles fed into my love for scifi and comic books so that one has a special place in my heart, particularly because of Edna Mode and how much she looks like Linda Hunt
As for Toy Story…let’s not go there 😛
And now that you mention Studio Ghibli, tell me which one is your favourite?
Monsters Inc is a good shout. That’s probably my favourite after Toy Story 1 / 2. Didn’t like 3 or Finding Nemo much. I haven’t seen as many of the recent ones!
I don’t think I’ve seen The Incredibles either, maybe once!
From Studio Ghibli my favourites are Spirited Away, The Cat Returns and Arrietty. Though they’re all great to watch! What about you?
Spirited Away by far. Not only is it a great story but the aesthetics of the ‘other world’ are great and I love the portrayal of Japanese folklore, with the different spirits and gods.
Having said so, my knowledge of Studio Ghibli films is limited. I need to sit down and marathon my way through most of them hahaha, just to complete my mental collection.
I agree, it’s very magical and unforgettable. If I ever met someone who hadn’t seen any Ghibli but only wanted to watch one, that would be it! I haven’t watched quite all of them either, still four or five to go 🙂
We seriously need to organise a movie marathon
Also, it’s not Ghibli made but was directed by Miyazaki, I recommend Castle of Cagliostro. It’s one of the best entries in the Lupin III film series
I always see that on Amazon when I’m looking at Ghibli dvds haha 🙂 maybe I’ll try it out!
Do eeeeeet!!!
Do eeeeeet
I love Monster Ink.
It’s a funny film 🙂
I have to admit, I’m not a huge Pixar fan (duckiung head in shame) but I do love Toy Story and Finding Nemo.😊
#hugs
No need to ‘duck head in shame’, Kim. Pixar isn’t a patch on real cartoons!
(Sorry, Em, had to get that in…XXX)
Thanks Pete. I haven’t felt this ashamed since I confessed to my husband that I couldn’t stand Mr. Rogers, even as a child.😔
I had to look up Mr Rogers. He looks creepy!
Thank you! I never trusted that man!
Oh no! I can’t vote, as I don’t have a favourite Pixar film.
I just hate them all, equally!
Glad it’s a weekday, and you are back again.
As ever, Pete. XXX
That’s okay Pete! I’m not a massive fan either. I like Toy Story 1 /2, Monsters Inc and Up but even then, not huge kids film favourites. I agree about the old cartoons 🙂
Been having a bad week at work I’m afraid, only been bloody made redundant! So I will be / am online still and getting on WordPress every day if I can but maybe not all the time whilst I fast job seek 🙂
Hope you and Ollie are well! XXX
Oh no. really sorry to hear that, Em. Bloody job market. If I win the lottery, I will employ you as my assistant! You can type up my blogs, and cheer me up. XXX
I’m OK, but Ollie has been to the Vet with bad ears today. Two lots of tablets, and a skin test. That will be £109 thank you- KERCHING! He’s worth it though…XXX
Have you ever thought about working in a bank? I could ask Julie about vacancies at Natwest. Just a thought…XXX
That’s very kind of you Pete. At the moment I’m going to explore my options! I’ve been working part-time in a more youth work type of role so thinking i might try for that full time…we’ll see 🙂 how are you?! xxx
OK thanks, honey. Enjoying no rain for a while. Good luck with the job-hunting! XXX
Thanks Pete and yes, no rain, hurrah!!! XXX
Oh no! How is Ollie now? xxx
He is on the tablets again. Not shaking his head so much, but his ear is still a bit smelly! XXX
I hope he’s feeling better! xxx
He he, thanks Pete 🙂 xxx
