Secret Window is based on the novella ‘Secret Window, Secret Garden’ from King’s Four Past Midnight collection. It tells the story of writer Mort (Johnny Depp) who, whilst trying to avoid finalising his divorce in the solitude of his country home, is accused of plagurism by the mysterious and sinister John Shooter (John Turturro).

This isn’t one of King’s strongest film adaptations but it’s still a lot of fun and much of this is down to Johnny Depp’s performance.

    Funny, I just saw this one a few nights ago. Didn’t find it to be very good, but an opportunity to watch Johnny Depp is always golden for me 🙂

  6. I read this yesterday Ems and thought you were spot on. It’s not my favorite adaptation but I think Depp captured the character perfectly!

    You summed this up very nicely, Em. I actually like it a lot, and really enjoyed the performances of both Depp and Turturro. Just long enough to stay interesting, and not too long to get dull.
