A Super Scientific Study into Superheroes and Porn!

Regardless of how you feel about superhero movies, you can’t deny their popularity at the box office. These days it feels like anyone wearing a cape, or brightly coloured tights is guaranteed success. But no franchise has so far been able to top the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which has earned over $18 billion worldwide so far.

With Avengers: Endgame right around the corner, there’s been a lot of talk about why these movies have continued to be so successful. People seem to assume it has to do with the interesting stories or the depth of character. But I have another theory; they’re all so damn attractive!

I mean look at them – Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Zoe Saldana… who wouldn’t want to watch these beautiful people jump around in spandex for 3 hours and 58 seconds?

Clearly I’m not the only one who feels this way. Last year when Avengers: Infinity War was released, PornHub.com saw searches for the word “avengers” increase by over 350%! Of course, people were searching for their favourite characters as well with Black Widow, Spider-Man, and Captain America taking the top 3 spots, respectively.

The good people at hims took the initiative to compile some of this data in a tidy infographic, and figure out what you should expect from each character in the bedroom. What do you think about their analysis?
