The 17th January 2014

Two years ago today The Guest was released. And what a super good day that was.

To celebrate, just scroll down this page really, really slowly.

Oh Emma, I’m with you! This is a wacky film but I love it 🙂
Dan Stevens is a nice surprise, out of his Downton Abbey clothes he looks different 😉

    • emmakwall says:

VERY different to Downton Abbey!!! 🙂

I really like this film, it’s one of those rare occurrences where I loved it from the first time I watched it. I’d say it was in my top 10 films 🙂

Thanks for your comment Marta! 🙂

The Guest is now officially at the top of my Love Film list, hope to see it soon.

And yet once more I ask “How the bloody hell did I miss this?!” What would I do without you and Eric, and Vinnie, and David, and all the other movie aficionados on here? After looking at those pics I’m going to try to watch this ASAP!

    • emmakwall says:

Oh I’ve missed so many films Kims don’t worry about it hee hee!!!!

I really liked The Guest, I’d be as bold as to say it’s in my top 10 films but I know it won’t be for everyone, but I hope you like it!!!!! 😀

      #besties #birthdaypackage!!

  5. Jordan Dodd says:

Love this movie!!! I will always remember Stevens’ piercing stare.

    • emmakwall says:

Yes!!!! I love it too 🙂 I think a lot of people think I fancy him (posting all the memes!) but it’s not really that, I just love the character. I love David!! Yeah he’s attractive but it’s not about that.

Piercing stare 🙂 and he was kinda smug in places too lol.

I really love this film!!!!! ❤

  6. movierob says:

do u think i’d like this?

  7. badblokebob says:

I love The Guest! Easily one of the top few films I saw last year. It’s a bit of a not-for-everyone film, it seems, but I think people who like it really like it.

    • emmakwall says:

It’s only two years old and already in my (highly exclusive!) Top 10 Films list 🙂 The first time I saw it I loved it, but each time I’ve watched it since it’s just been better and better. Plus, the soundtrack is BRILLIANT!

      • badblokebob says:

Oh yes, the soundtrack is fantastic. That’s reminded me that I’d meant to look for an album of it (so, thanks!)

        • emmakwall says:

You can only get it on MP3 or vinyl. I collect CD soundtracks and it’s one that I really, really wanted in hard copy but couldn’t get! 😦 but you can get the whole album as an MP3 or like I say, vinyl if that’s your thing 🙂

          • badblokebob says:

I much prefer CDs too. On the bright side, I’ve discovered it’s available on Amazon Prime Music, which I have, so it’s ‘mine’ for free!

            • emmakwall says:

              Woo hoo!!! 😀

But…….it still doesn’t make up for not having the inlay and case!!!! 😦 but having said that, listening to it in the car is cool 🙂

Another soundtrack I have never been able to get is for the sci-fi film Sunshine from 2007. LOVE the score in that film, but no CD ever released 😦

            • badblokebob says:

The soundtrack market is a funny one, I find. Some really odd stuff gets released (old films everyone’s forgotten; new films no one’s likely to care about), while some real gems go unnoticed.

            • emmakwall says:

I think it’s often down to arguments between studio and production company or even composer (if it’s a score). Legalities 😦 I’m a real soundtrack hound dog lol, I read up on them a lot. Chances are it will be released one day, just gotta keep on checking!

    • emmakwall says:

P.S thanks for your comment Bad Bloke Bob! 😉

  8. beetleypete says:

I bought this film a couple of months ago, and it’s still on the shelf behind me, in its wrapper. I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, but have read a lot of good things about it.
    Best wishes, Pete. xx

  9. mikeladano says:

Never seen The Guest, but that dude has kinda a Chris Pine look to him. (Which is fine!)

  10. vinnieh says:

I can tell you enjoyed putting this post together sister. Wonderful job.
