The Fly II (1989) – Film Review
I had wanted to watch this film for sooooo long. As some of my regular readers (I know there’s at least two of you, don’t be shy) will know, I absolutely mother-fucking love The Fly (1986) and it is definitely my favourite EVER horror movie as well as holding a firm place in my top 10 of all time. Well in 2019 I finally watched the sequel – thirty years after its original release. Gulp.
I’d always heard it was pretty decent and of course I knew all about ‘THE’ dog scene (sob!) but bugger me it was even better than I thought it would be. Both film endings remain one of the nastiest scenes in cinema.
So gross! But at least some happiness was found in The Fly II 🙂
I checked, and I did comment on the original. I agree with John though, it was a ‘natural evolution’, and not a nasty remake.

I agree that these two films are a dynamite double bill, and an example of taking a classic film and “reimagining” it for a new generations, NOT just a pointless remake! Terrific review!

My wife had Jeff Goldblum on her TV show and he was PHENOMENAL – funny, warm, gracious and pure Goldblum!
