The Meg (2018)
“That thing’s out there. We need to find it. And kill it” – Jonas Taylor, 2018

Did you ever feel that a film was made JUST FOR YOU?
I can’t even properly remember when I first heard about The Meg but it was sometime last year. I was excited immediately. Indeed I even chose it as my ‘Most Anticipated Film of 2018’ for the world famous Opinion Battles (see here).
Since then my excitement has only doubled, tripled and grown to ridiculous, infinite universe sized proportions by watching awesome trailers with huge bite marks and (in particular) finding out that Jason Statham is playing a fisherman called JONAS TAYLOR. Genius. Please let them have a fist fight. Or would that be a fin fight? Or a fist and fin fight? Whatever, I just want to see him bunch it in the earhole.
The most recent trailer I watched also suggested that Taylor might be a bit of a rebel. Maybe a bit of a cynic too? And dragged out of retirement sorta against his will (!!!) so he can fight against a 70 foot, thought-to-be-extinct mega shark whilst ALSO making many dramatic head turns to the camera (I’ve really had fun watching the trailers).

I hope to see The Meg (in 3D of course) on its first day of release in the UK – 10th August. So stay tuned for a post in the ‘not-so-distant’ future that is likely over excited, slightly deranged and very, very glowing. I hope!
