Hey there, dear readers!
How are you doing this fabulous Tuesday? We all know how much a movie’s score can add to its experience. I have brought it up in several of my reviews and so have many other movie reviewers and critics. My fellow movie blogger Emma, over at Emmakwall (explains it all), is one such person. Emma loves movie soundtracks, probably even more than I do! She is a huge movie music fan and regularly looks at and analyzes movie soundtracks, even devoting an entire section of her site to soundtracks. Being the movie music fans that we are, we decided to have a chat about our common interest. Let’s get to it!

Great interview and I totally agree with Pulp Fiction and Guardians being awesome soundtracks. Tarantino’s are always amazing but I’m John Williams all the way of I had to choose a favourite. I’m going to the Albert Hall in May for the Space Spectacular: ET, Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica are some of the scores being played. So excited!!

This is the LOA soundtrack. I think it works better when watching the film, but it’s still memorable.

I struggled with the tiny cream-coloured print on a chocolate background, but got there in the end.
I am always pleased to read about your delight for soundtracks, especially as I rarely think about them. When our grandson in here, we have Disney films like Frozen and Cinderella playing constantly, so I have grown to actually hate them all, II’m afraid.
Have you ever heard the soundtracks to older films, like Lawrence of Arabia, or Doctor Zhivago? I remember them as being very dramatic, in a dark cinema, in 70 MM presentation, even before the days of Dolby Surround Sound.

Hi Pete! How are you? Hope you’re feeling a little better? I had the same problem earlier reading blue text on a black background somewhere on WordPress 😦
I must admit I’ve never seen Frozen and have no desire to! And when I hear that ‘Let It Go’ song I dislike it too though somehow know all of the words?! The only Disney soundtracks I really love and would listen to are The Little Mermaid and Aladdin and a few other random songs from the Classics, some from The Jungle Book.
How old is your grandson? Has he seen The Princess and the Frog? Oh that’s a great one Pete, reminiscent of the old classics!
I’ll have to check out those old soundtracks, thanks Pete! I do love the dramatic stuff 🙂 the only scores I’m familiar with really are from Spaghetti Westerns, the Morricone stuff. And some horror movies too. I’ll look up Lawrence of Arabia first!

Thanks, Em, the vertigo has verti-gone! So far, so good, but no dizziness for four days now.
I think the grandson has every Disney going, but I am also sure that they are mainly for his mum, and my wife too, as he is only 15 months old!

I like a film soundtrack to be there, but not to tell you what is going to happen, or lead you down a certain emotional path. I think the theme from The Godfather is something of a classic. xxx

The Godfather theme is indeed a classic, totally agree. Is there ANYONE that wouldn’t be able to identity that music? Similarly with the Jaws music. Aww, I bet your grandson is absolutely adorable!!!! 15 months, what a lovely age. Sometimes I think it would be nice if kids stayed kids forever hee hee. xxx

I can’t wait for him to grow up, marry, and move to Scotland! He is into everything, switches, buttons, and knobs, especially anything dangerous. Even when he’s not doing that, he shouts and screams all the time.
That’s obviously why I never had any kids. No paternal gene…xxx
